You weren't with us, very long,
before we knew it, you were gone.
You left your paw-prints on my heart,
You declared me your right from the start!

Your days were numbered when we met,
your sweet, kneading love I'll not forget;
Your face will always be in mind,
your quiet love was such a find!

The time so short, the love so fierce-
you'll be remembered as my heart was pierced.
I'll remember and love you all of my days,
as my loyal, loving "sucky-face".

And when my days have run their course,
and I depart this form,
we'll be united once again,
together were we belong.

Just remember I loved you so,
I didn't want to let you go.
I wanted to love you a whole lot more,
but God just closed, and locked that door.

I don't know why, can't even guess,
but time spent with you, was time I was blessed.
I've let you go, but you're still with me,
until I join you, play and be free.

Kit Carson also came to me with leukemia, unbeknownst to me. He also grew in size and his fur flourished. He used to suck on my shirt collars, and knead on me, thus his nickname. Kit was gentle...sweet...so happy to be loved. Leukemia stole his vision, and I knew as it coursed through his body, I had to ease his pain. No choice but to let him go in peace. He was with us such a short time, considering all the others, but he firmly placed himself in my heart with his love and adoring looks he gave me. He was a mix of white and tabby marked grey areas, medium length fur, and so sweet. Kit, know I love you still, and will see you one day in spirit.

Cats are much better than people. More trustworthy, and more loving.

Tis true.

You know, Hawk, when I was very young, I used to tell my mom that I preferred animals over people. She was shocked, and thought there was something seriously wrong with me....to prefer animals over my own species!!??

Just a few years ago, my mother was talking to me, and reminded me of my words all those years ago. She confessed that she now finally understood what I meant, and NOW she agrees with me concerning a large portion of the population.

Animals don't do things to deliberately hurt you, they don't have power plays, don't play head games, only give to you what you give to them, and they not only know and understand uncondtional love, but practice it MUCH more than humans can seem to manage.
