Glorious, glowing, gold fringed friend,
Resonant dome, pink and pearl,
Turcoise and gold dance across your walls.

Where once i towered high above in the land of songthrush,
You have become my world.

To think i might have stepped on you in my crazy haste!
where was i going that was so important?
Time and space are but a dream gone by,
as I hold you in my palm where you cradle me gently.

We are one you and I -no beginning, no end,
Only love :O)

WDL, I don’t know where you’re from, but we have snails by the hundreds roaming our yards here in California. However, I never thought of them in the way that you portray them.

Your tribute to such a small creature is filled with lots of imagery, both dynamic and passive. In fact much of it can be found in the very first stanza.

I see an extended metaphor in “Snail Shell” that says that all creatures, great and small, are important.

Very good message.

I think my favorite line was

To think i might have stepped on you in my crazy haste!
where was i going that was so important?

I loved this poem.. shows how some of the smallest things, that cost nothing can bring joy and wonder into the eye of the beholder.
