-Envelopes and return addresses-
She rolled over crushed light bulbs
Ensuring the sun’s exile,
Blood shimmering like a diamond mine,
Refracting daybreak javelins,
Fitted with hangover wings and heartbreak vanes,
Hands like hammers, studded with shrapnel gauntlets,
Splintered veins, kisses tinged crimson,
Love letters rot like carrion

nickcid, you describe the feelings of helplessness and hopelessness brought on by loss, especially lost love.

The paradoxical simile in this verse single handedly and cleverly exposes both the pleasure and pain of being in love.
Well done.

Nick,
I can't really add anything to what Michael's already said. This is amazing.

This has to be the best piece of dark poetry that I've read in the last 2 years. I wish I could give you a medal :)
But I will Staff Pick this one :)
