the seasons are at war!
and winter roars -
challenging the Sun,
taunting:
"Go fool!
off to bed with you.
pleasant dreams!"

and all too soon,
i am a passive observer
in the movie life
letting his dreams come true

as i listen
to the leaf's
whispering
gentle secrets -
devil/angel
on the fence,
lending faith
to both sides.

dance this magic dance,
Mother Nature.

excite the whole world.

oh, the leaves weren't
whispering down south today
but were crackle-snapping, flung
in a serious way into loud conversation
while autumn made hay and the sun swung west -

by cold request.

we're on the same track, bromanoph; i was listening to the leaves today too, in fact i think it was they who woke me up this morning with their noisy play!
