One day I will walk outside,
without coat or second thoughts,
to play beneath my favorite tree
that I can still see from my window
in this twilighted room,
and I won'tthink twice about me or you,
but only of the way the leaves
rustle while they laugh
that I've finally come through.

The sun is waiting to watch,
saving its brightest smile
just for the moment I stretch myself
tall enough to catch the branch
and pull myself into its shadows,
green and calm like a piece of sea
suspended between the earth and moon.

One day I will walk outside,
naked in my longing for freedom,
and it will not matter then the truth:
that there was never a tree,
nor a sun in the sky,
a you and me, or even
an "I" ....
It was all just make-believe,
and I was never hurt;
I just dreamed I was.

This poem is brilliant, to me it talks to the problem some people have of not recovering to a lost love, but lying to themselves. Whatever works , but i know one thing for sure, your poetry works well. Love it iblieve

These are the same feelings and emotions I have...your poetry runs deep for me, hard to read because I feel like my secret self is being displayed for everyone to look at....its awesome. Dont ever stop. This is my all time favorite...I just cant get enough:)~Dandy

Wonderful words strung on a necklace of despair. I could feel the emptiness and confusion. Very well-written and compelling. SherryA
