Will I see you at the (forever) after-party?
Why does death always smell like carnival atmosphere
stagnant air dissolving into frigid winds of change
and I can sense the scent of cotton candy and corndogs mixed with treason
Loneliness feels to me like nights of fighting with my father
when I died for him at birth
just to justify my worth
The tears that I cry now taste like malnutrition
when I was nourished in the womb..9 months
to shape my doom
but now I'm waiting for the 9
to rewind what’s in my mind
I wonder If I'll see you at the forever after party
we can share an empty room
and burst balloons once
filled with gloom
We'll light candles to our deception
and then blow them out to solve
the great mystery of this life
before this tired soul dissolves
with the clowns and all the jesters
that have shed their masks and sins
by peeling back their laughter
to expose true fear within
Ain’t it funny how goodbyes always smell like the county fair..but perhaps we'll share a room one day
or another breath of air
Why does death always smell like carnival atmosphere
