"Lost In My High"

I’ve been high, barely getting by over the past seven years
Been too ****** up to pay respects and shed tears for my past away peers
Head all ****** up and foggy, my thoughts are unclear
Blinded by hallucinations, my problems and all my fears
I never paid attention to reality, not listening; I was too stubborn to hear

Yo, check it, I’m a screw up, I never even grew up
A teen at heart, everything fell the **** apart
My family was basically separated from the start
Never had adventure, unlike Louis and Clark
Getting high is as far as I got, sittin’ on the wall in the park

I never grew up in no project, no ghetto or hood
Never been in a gang, so I’m not a crypt or a blood
My surroundings and I were taken over by drugs, a devastating flood
I would love to go back, change it all if I could
I wish there were someone, something, a god that would

The friends I had, I realize they ain’t tight
They too caught up in the game, a thing they call business
Now, I just sit here, no job, a pad and pen, I write
Sit around try and make what’s left all right without giving up this fight
Growing up, these things never phased me, I was ******* crazy
Hardly went to school, and when I did I was god damn lazy

Hazy, now the smoke has cleared, I can see and think
I gave it all up, no yack, I don’t smoke or even drink
If I don’t stay on that track, I’ll sink like the titanic
The rest of my life is going to be nothing but a paranoid panic
My life has been nothing but a difficult quiz
I need some answers, can anyone pull me out this uncontrollable spin
