He walks out the door
Leaving her standing in the doorway
Tears in her eyes
Running slowly down her cheeks
He says he doesn't love her anymore
And maybe he never did
This thought scared her
She loved him with everything she had
Her heart is broken
Pieces lying on the floor

She's crying on the bed
She can't remember
How she got here from the door
She looks around the room they shared
All she sees is reminders of him
He can't be really gone
They had so many hopes and dreams
Now she feels so lost
Where does she go from here?
How do you pick up all the pieces?

She packs his things
And puts them by the door
She knows he'll be back for them
She puts their pictures in a box
Far back in the closet
It's time to move on
Find out who she is on her own
Change the locks, decorate the place her way
This is now her place
This is where she belongs

Ahh...the heartbreak of a disolving relationship...know this too well. However...it is quite cool to have your own space and your own place...first thing I did was change the locks as he was leaving....now its time to decorate:) Loved this one...the flow and everything. Great write my friend~Dandy

I like how this ended with her discovering her own identity, not collapsing into the shadow that was them. This is a very positive (underneath the heartache) poem. Much enjoyed Fun.
