It swirls and twirls
a winter dance
thru ice-splintered space.

Feathersoft as eiderdown,
it stops to rest
upon an angel’s face.

Melting to a diamond tear
it slips to earth,
a tribute from heaven’s grace.

Love your descriptions in this poem Nanna. The ice splinters, the eiderdown, the diamond tear... very well-imaged. Reminds me of one that I wrote in a similar vein, Tearflakes...

Congealed raindrops conceal
frozen sadness dropping from a melancholy sky,
sewing crystalline threads of a white tapestry that
she will lay over her long sleeping child.

You know what they say, brilliant minds and all :D. I enjoyed your poem a lot Nanna.

Thank you, Bryan. And I love your 'Tearflakes'. We must be tuned to the same wavelength. :)
