Sarah, my dear Sarah..
whatever shall we do?
Sad widowed heir, please don't despair,
my lover left me too
Now, every door I open,
exposes the same view,
dark and chilling chambers
where I wander just like you..
Whom did I build these walls for?
What souls do they appease?
the victims of my actions?
or the ghosts of memories?
The spirits sweeping through my chest
or weeping in the vacant rooms?
unforgiven…doomed and driven
for revenge and lust consumed
And so I paint the walls with gloom
and halls that lead to open wounds
where never-ending desperation
chokes the heart encased in tombs
Sometimes I sit in silence
in a garden sown with penance
unable to escape my maze
enslaved, I serve my sentence
I wonder if you feel the same
even from your grave
Or do you drift alone at night
through halls and walls enclaved?
engraved from stares and moist with tears
you see, I wander too
Sarah, my dear Sarah,
my heart goes out to you
in stagnant air…sad widowed heir
my lover left me too..
like all the souls she stole before
with weapons old and new
Now no one else will know my house
the rooms where I lose touch
behind the walls I build because
the pain is just too much..
So Sarah my sweet Sarah,
whatever shall we do?
when we are not to blame
yet I am hurting just like you

The mystery house is located in San Jose California, it was built without real direction (blueprints)by Sarah Winchester to appease the ghosts of indians killed by the weapons her husband built.

I had missed this one. As always very deep, poetry and yes the darkness is there hid well in the double meanings and metaphors. iblieve
