Mary, could you really know-
When labor pains were done-
The precious child you held
Was truly God's own Son?

Prophecy you knew-
Had studied from your youth-
His destiny foretold.
Had you learned the truth?

Should you rejoice-or cry?
Should worry fill your mind?
Could this little child
Be the Saviour of mankind?

If so-He'd face rejection,
For iniquity be bruised;
By crucifixion pay for sin-
Politically be used.

How did you choose with heavy heart
To gladly carol of His birth
And render meek and mild the sounds
That echoed in the earth?

God's sacrifice was sent with joy
Not with a martyr's pose
Angels chorus, shepherds worship
Star shone down on Heaven's Rose.

So we with humble adoration
Must rejoice despite our fate.
If hearts accept the baby Christ child
We'll usher into heaven's gate.

Very beautiful, thelaurie, and as foreverbluesky said, it could be a song.

Sometimes a thought will strike deep enough for me to gush forth words. I hope this happens more often. Thank you for reading and replying. thelaurie
P.S. am I "responding" correctly? Not sure how in FAQ to find out if I am right! I am a simple mind that needs exact directions!
