"Hey there Winter Solstice Man, tell me when
the sun will rise."

"Tomorrow, tomorrow
I shall revitalize the world of men
with presents of light to fight the shadow.

Several Hydra headed hoists once did tow
my glowing chariot. On Adonis
on Mithras, on Jesus on Osiris
on Tammuz, on Virbius, on Attis
on Dionysus, who with his gnosis
so bright led my slaying of countless beasts
all sacrificed for your midwinters feast
tonight. But would men still fall to their knees
if they knew the sun will always rise in the east
and I'm only in it for the milk and cookies."

:)

Milk and cookies? Shucks. I've been leaving carrots and hay for the Horned One with the Fiery Proboscis...

welcome to the big blue poetry box, omphalos!

You're thinking of Spring Equinox Man...hairy...cloven hoofs...you know fertility guy. Give him a few more months but watch out for the fiery proboscis, ouch. Incidentally, it's Ompholos. I know, I know I spelled it wrong a long time ago and didn't figure it out until I had a bunch of e-mail addresses with Ompholos. So I let it stick so that anyone who didn't know Greek would scratch their heads and anyone who did would think me an idiot. At least I'm not Omphalos27@hotmail.com though. Thanks for the comments mb.
