The stars shimmer in the night,
I drink of a liquid moon
through unblinking eyes.

A wintery moment to savor
as I know it will soon pass
never to come this way again.

It moves on, as moments always do.
I am left with a brief sense
of what pure beauty must taste like.

Who knows for sure
about the liquidity of the moon.

Yes, nature in all of the varied aspects of her personality is amazing to behold. Enjoyed much Mac.

Hello, dear friend. I always enjoy your writing, and this piece is no exception. Eyes drinking in the beauty... now that is something I can definitely relate to. Well done!

Very nicely said!:cool:I feel like a parrot here, but I really can relate to that. I love to "savor" moments, and many times, that's just about all I can do to hold onto them.... great poem!

Mac, these moments as you say pass but give us memories which will sometimes last for ever. I can remember early mornings like this when I was on the milk round. 4 a.m. and quietly going along with my electric milk float. The moon on a frosty morning hanging up there with a halo round it, frost glistening on the grass of the road verges, cold seeping into the cab because there was no petrol engine only an electric motor underneath. Fingers beginning to get chilled because it was impossible to wear gloves and handle bottles, so I had to wear fingelress mittens. Yet there was a magic feeling in the air. In the beginning of December you could hear the vixen fox screaming out to attract the dog, tawny owls would swoop across the lanes in front of you, or give a hoot as you passed them perched on branches looking out for voles or rats.
Liquidity of the moon? No no it's made of Cheddar cheese.

mac,

i have seized at least three moon moments in my mind - indelible things, never to phase away. very well you may doubt the liquidity of the moon!

this is a lovely piece, and winter is truly the most fitting of frameworks for la luna, isn't it?

I do not care for winter, save for winter's moon. Liquid indeed.
