Look

The western sky a funeral pyre
to mark the dying of the sun
that sets the heavens all on fire.
The daylight fades and night’s begun

Vermilion, crimson, scarlet flames
that paint the clouds in fiery hues
and other colours without names
Combine to give elusive views

That fade and die eventually
as the night falls in shades of blue
I sit and watch contentedly
For every sunset is brand new.

Sunset, sunrise which paint the skies
give us a glimpse of paradise.

Oh, Ivor, how beautiful! Thank you so much for this treasure. I have copied it to read over and over again... perhaps when I gaze upon yet another sunset or sunrise. *hug*

very evocative, if this is inspired by one of nanna's
fotos then the proper symbiosis is usually achieved,
if there is a foto would you be so kind as to direct me to it

Different trees, TRex. The mist photo was taken facing north, toward the field behind our house. This one was taken facing west (of course!). :D
