Clouds

Alone at night you fly through the sky
Light and whispy, yet with fire in your eye
You come and go as nature allows
A beautiful being we call the clouds

Alive in our heart, yet you have no soul
You just roll along and go with the flow
The time has come for you to depart
It begins to rain, truly an art

The water you hold we cannot see
That is until you are no longer to be
You release your life on the earth below
Purely and simply, so the flowers can grow

nice poem! I like the way the rhyming went...it worked quite well. So many poems I read that rhyme feel...somewhat "sticky" if you know what I mean. They just sound fake. But this sounds very authentic. Thanks

You personify clouds by talking to them. That approach reinforces their relationship to earthly life.

This final stanza continues that theme. However, clouds giving up their “lives” so that the elements of earth can live is a fitting way to wrap up the message of this poem.
