Standing separated from the worldly crowds
taking in every moment from the sleepless night
A portrait of a shadow in unfamiliar light
waiting for a savior in black and white
Can’t hear through the music
feeling something in the air-
knowing you’re not there

Perfect light reflecting through prison windows
revealing dream images in the water
A picture of everything you can be in the future
Glory and beauty; your curse and your cure
Thunderstorms and lightning
will be your only frights
when you live and black and white

Photographs you showed me, of a fallen clock
Feelings I thought I wanted, now against my will
Ideas that you want time to stand still
though you know it never will
take them for sanity
like your mother like your life
negatives in black and white

You can still see the brightness of the stars
and the blanket darkness of the night
You still squint your eyes in loves searchlight
you know this life’s just not right
You’re missing the colors of the sunset, and twilight blue
all the myriad shades of life
when you only see in black and white

You’re too afraid of colors; you’re scared of love
Terrified of anything I have to say to you
But I’ll be waiting for you, understanding you
Waiting in black and white

Believing in your sight
Flashes in the night reveal maybe everything,
isn’t black and white

Thank you Travis, I'm glad that you liked that part...it was actually one that I struggled with a little and wasn't sure how it came out. And yes, yes...very heartfelt...almost too much I think sometimes...
