Short Time Shared

It crushed my soul,
He took him from me,
Left me alone,
To bear this on my own,
Such a short time together,
Yet much longer it seems,
Things are not the same anymore,
So different things are,
To no longer see his smiling little face,
His cheeky grin,
His mischievous behaviour,
He was so young,
He led a short life,
But I hope his time with me was happy,
Cos he will remain in me always,
And I will never forget,
For he will stay with me forever,
Sadness ruled the day,
Tears blurred my way,
Because on that dark day,
He took my heart,
And trod upon it,
Because he took my baby away.
