Ratatoskr*

up down the boughs of Yggdrasil
the squirrel bolts zig zag lightning paths
up high to where the raptors thrill.

a Hermes with a twitching tail,
up down the boughs of Yggdrasil
he leaps, immune to all trevail.

amongst the roots he plays with skill
to ravel earth and sky in jest
up down the boughs of Yggdrasil.

*the squirrel in Norse mythology that bears envious words between the great worm(Nidhoggr) gnawing at the root of the world tree(Yggdrasil) and the great Eagle in its branches.
