Yesterday I thought I heard a call from somewhere above us
I didn’t care to respond
I am at home in my denial
You and I will never leave
Did my words scare you
When I said, ‘There’s nothing worth being here,’
Cursing life
Did you drown in darkness
Trying to hide from the light
How many years have passed
Since we stood upon the bridge
And stared into vast, endless night
And down below, we saw what we thought was hope
A new start for ones who’d lost it all
Somewhere
I lost myself to the fade
Somewhere
I just decided to give up
And sacrifice my cares
For an artificial contentment
Damned be the ones who’d try to save me
Guess you came down here with me
In this, our godless pit
Walking in decay for evermore
The waste of past dreams, gone
We will never crawl out again
Maybe sometimes we delude ourselves
When we realize that a better future’s a lie
A temporary cure for an everlasting disease
And though the world doesn’t know it
We are trapped here and there will never be release
Someday he will be back
But until then I’ll drown with you in the darkness
Trying to hide from the light
I didn’t care to respond
I am at home in my denial
You and I will never leave
Did my words scare you
When I said, ‘There’s nothing worth being here,’
Cursing life
Did you drown in darkness
Trying to hide from the light
How many years have passed
