Simple tastes

The morning sky a layer cake
in pastel shades of blue and pink.
That brings me joyously awake,
to gaze in wonder and to think.
Of all the beauty that is free
for all of us who care to look.
The whole world is a gallery
a living breathing picture book.
But dollar chasing men are blind
they only know the colour green.
The only beauty that they find
is piles of cash, to me obscene

You cannot buy the suns first kiss
a quiet moment of sheer bliss

Ivor, you know I had to comment on this one.

Your descriptive metaphor of the world is spot on.

You then speak of greed, profitability and the “bottom line”. What these people of whom you speak don’t seem to get is that we profit from the air we breathe, the paintings in that “gallery” and the that, because our chance to inhale the beauty of this planet is finite, the “bottom line” is the chance to be one with Nature. Maybe I should say to realize and take advantage of the fact that we all are one with Nature.

good stuff ivor! hey, aren't they making currency with a pinkish hue now? perhaps to compensate for the roses they cannot see and will not pause to smell?

Let me add my sentiments as well. One
of your best that I've read.

Dollar chasing men indeed.
