I Never Liked Your Hair
Are you too far above me, Am I too far below?
If I dared to ask you out, I wonder if you’d go
Will your friends approve me? Will it be alright?
I guess I’ll have to get the nerve to ask you out one night
At first you tell me “yes I’ll go”, but you call the night before
Saying that you’re sorry, you can’t make it anymore
And I can tell already just how the call will end
Just before you hang up, you say “lets just be friends”
You say let’s just be friends, you blow my dreams apart
Dump me with a casual cliche to the heart
So all that I can do now is pretend I never cared
And if anybody asks me, well, I never liked your hair
(chorus)
I never liked your hair! So There! I never liked your hair!
It proves you didn’t hurt me cause I never liked your hair!
I know you think you dumped me But I really never cared
And if anybody asks me I never liked your hair
I wonder what it was that changed, made you dump me on the phone
‘cause you sorta seemed to like me, when we were all alone
Maybe your friends trashed me, said you ranked higher on the chart
So now out of pity I get a cliche to the heart
It’s a cliche to the heart that I’ve heard too many times
And I guess I’ll never really know why you changed your mind
All that I can do now is pretend I never cared
And if anybody asks me well, I never liked your hair.
(chorus)
I never liked your hair! So There! I never liked your hair!
It proves you didn’t hurt me cause I never liked your hair!
I know you think you dumped me But I really never cared
And if anybody asks me I never liked your hair
But somehow on the phone that night you seemed ingenuine
Like you really meant to like me except for all your friends
And if things had worked out different and we’d admitted that we care
I’d probably also tell you, I really like your hair.
Are you too far above me, Am I too far below?
If I dared to ask you out, I wonder if you’d go
Will your friends approve me? Will it be alright?
