Streamers of sky pelt the dirt blind
Beneath our pillowed heads

We shuffle our thoughts late into stars
Dreaming of warm melancholy

The wind lifts our transient pains
That we buried a month ago
Unearthing their restless bones

And free ranging hills corale the snow
Dropping a layered curtain
Across the dawn rose sky

Then evenings angels rise to flight
With winters final owl

And we dust these winter sheets
Awaiting the spring green goddess

Isaac, nice imagery. The unrhymed couplets are very well placed as they each describe a different, unique part of “Dream of Spring at Dawn”.

The entire piece embraces the true intent of poetic writing, so it was sort of difficult for me to single out one particular passage as I did. However, I find the “stars” metaphor both clever and appropriate.

Nicely done. http://mindscraps.com/s/otn/wink/thumb.gif
