grips fatigue while sleep stalks

an intense solitude
caught, intent upon the sky,

hunting darkness' solace
to curl feline among the stars,

and breath the cool incandescence
borne within that flaming dew

as eyes, aglitter, devour the night

affinity, vivid and somewhat eerie.

I don’t know if it’s intentional, but the redundant imagery in your title is quite clever. Using “Night” and “Panther” together just makes the mood that much darker.

This is but one couplet that enables the extended personification to move smoothly through the entire piece.
