View Full Version : For The Shrinking Desert

The cacti pitch yawning
In escape from subverted places
And hide from their shaggy vallets.

Humurous cross sections lie outward
In a majesty of queer red sand stone.
You await the ignorant in blood thirsty beauty.

Pallad creatures scamper your scaley floor,
It's dry and oceanic with all the fish buried
Layer stacked layer of frozen days.

In you our echoes steal farthest
Shriveling in dead dry heat.
Dissolution me please.

I'm standing in fairy tale tragedy,
Ears far gone to your opus.

I haven't asked for this carnival yet
But the flared purples and greens
And the red fisted scrapings.

There used to live a fresh spirit,
Who took away the beeps, rings and slobs,
Shelter us in that thin shade.

You paint a vivid picture.

As Hawk said, Isaac, you paint a vivid, albeit sad picture. Deserts are merely proof that earth’s resources are finite. Unfortunately, there are those who’ve been duped into believing otherwise.

The most potent case you make for this is in the following antonymic stanza.

Of course, many transformations that Mother Earth has seen have been made within the framework of ecological evolution and the formation of deserts may very well fit into that category. However, humanity is adding to earth’s metamorphosis in unnatural and dangerous ways. I guess that’s where the adage “Let Nature take its course” comes from.

At any rate, you express this lonely and melancholy site very well. It certainly moves me.
