This one's a little different to the songs I usually write so please tell me what you think.

Chorus:
It's so warm but it feels so cold
I'm so young but feel so old
Before me the world passes by
Slowly I drown in the sands of time

Verse1:
This life has gone on for so long
I get weak, I once was strong
There must be something wrong
I feel like I'm dead and gone
I can't be done yet but I hear the gong
Oh god I'm just another one!

Chorus:
It's so warm but it feels so cold
I'm so young but feel so old
Before me the world passes by
Slowly I drown in the sands of time

Verse2:
I've seen so much but havn't opened my eyes
I've perceived everything but I'm still blind
I've said everything I can but I still can't find
The ability or words to speak my mind
I can't leave now I'm still in my prime
Oh god I'm out of time!

Chorus:
It's so warm but it feels so cold
I'm so young but feel so old
Before me the world passes by
Slowly I drown in the sands of time

Verse1(again):
This life has gone on for so long
I get weak, I once was strong
There must be something wrong
I feel like I'm dead and gone
I can't be done yet but I hear the gong
Oh god I'm just another one!

Chorus:
It's so warm but it feels so cold
I'm so young but feel so old
Before me the world passes by
Slowly I drown in the sands of time

Bridge:
I can see the end and I just can't pretend
That I want to go into that white glow!

Chorus:
It's so warm but it feels so cold
I'm so young but feel so old
Before me the world passes by
Slowly I drown in the sands of time

gotta say its the best i've read of yours i think. as really small point, the "gong" sort of reminds me of "the gong show" and is a little out of context as it feels too lighthearted for the general melancholy of the work. ( oh btw my musical influences are pretty broad, everything from bluegrasss and folk to sabbath, traffic, clapton) mostly acoustic blues tho, jorma kaukonen probably my favorite. Got a real soft spot for Fairport Convention and Richard and Linda Thompson out of vintage british folk as well.

Thanks Dark. I have very broad musical references aswell. From ambient and chill out to goth and death metal and plenty in between like rap/hip hop, funk, rock, metal (old and new), punk (the old stuff like The Sex Pistols and The Clash), ska and just about anything else jamacian but also a bit of folk and acoustic. I love celtic music. By the way... what's "the gong show"?

Sorry but alas no. I am however working with a few people (or planning to) and if those guys agree I post some stuff that we play. Since I'm going to be the vocalist chances are we'll play quite a few of my songs.

I really liked the image of drowning in the sands...just cause it's different, sand and not water...one of those small things that really stand out. Bien - Lyly
