(NOTE: You should have seen how green I was from the shoulders up tonight at a St. Patrick's Day Party)
Just spotted a little fellar, a leprechaun,
standing outside, right there on my lawn.
Teasing me about his pot of gold,
said it would never be mine to hold.
Caught him by a fish hook in the seat of his pants,
hog-tied him securely, now I have a chance.
To find his gold at rainbow’s end,
plenty of time in which to spend.
For there is no way he can get loose,
now he’ll learn about human abuse.
He shouldn’t have tried to taunt and tease,
his gold mine now, to do as I please.
I returned home to find him gone,
that little ornery, old leprechaun.
But I’ll keep his gold, hidden from sight,
to reclaim it now, he’ll have to fight.
The luck of the Irish was with me today,
I found his gold, and I took it away.
There he is screeching, out there on my lawn,
a very ornery, but dead-broke leprechaun..
But now, take a good look at me,
guess I should have just let him be.
I don't know now if I'll ever get clean,
or spend the rest of my life, being green.
