Cold rises as lingering mist
from the heart of the deep chasm,
Is blasted by the flaming rainbow lights
chasing across the endless heaven

The growling of the bear
Is a booming thunderbolt
In the vast emptiness of nowhere.
He stumbles across the crackling plain,
his swiftness is hidden in his shambling
and his camouflage belies his presence.

When the waning moon shows her face
the barking of the seals is a short welcome,
while the sharp splashing and cracking ice
tells of a new banquet at natures table,
delivered living-fresh to all the eaters!

The blackness of the water is hightened
by the cutting whiteness of the ice
decorated by luminous beings of light:
Ladies in generously sequined ensembles.

There is a constant whispering
In the crispy invigorating air,
a moaning and a groaning
like all the ghosts of Halloween
praying for release from freezing torment;
begging for, yet fearing the thaw,
while snow-white foxes
howl halleluja and amen!

I loved the description of the bear! This piece has a raw, edgy feel to it that I like, full of movement and purpose.
