Wolf

Howling of the wolf
...baying at the moon
far and near
calling to its mate.

The pack hunts at night
eyes glowing brightly in the dark
...An animal screams
all becomes silent.

The wolf is feeding
taking care of its young
before they sleep this night.

Majestic creature
fearsome to see
...the wolf is but
a untamed dog
trying to survive.

While writing about the wolf, I was watching my dog doing strange things in the yard.
He would stalk a moth before pouncing.
I thought he was acting like a cat on the hunt.
You never know what an animal will teach us.
