Some Sunny Sunday
How the symbiotic tongue slips
its control and refrains -
as a cafe voice becomes emboldened
between cheesecake, olive oils,
and even a latte.
"Here we sit, along the sidewalk
and from grass stains, disdain.
Stainless steel tables mock
(as tint-glazed people, they prop)
against the natural light of day.
"One day, perhaps, instead
we'll commune
on the far side of the moon;
or better yet,
fade to a realm
without restrooms...
Where the centipedes stamp
as the children camp -
simple pleasures we'll have
to chase away the gloom.
"Someday, some sunny Sunday,
they'll find us there."
