the trees glow pink as matron's hair
curly myrtle
bob for air and sunshine
wined and dined by all-night showers
fitting fare
flower power.

I don’t know the ages of everyone who’s responded to this, but I remember an interview, back in the day, that was done with Donovan Leitch. I guess he was considered a folk singer in the sixties. He went by his first name only. He was from Glasgow, Scotland. I considered his lyrics very poetic. I think his son, who uses his surname as well, is in “the business”, too, these days.
The reason I bring Donovan up is because in the interview, he said that he uses words euphonically almost as much as, if not more than, for meaning.
By the way, John Lennon said the same for the lyrics and music for “I Am The Walrus”.
laleesh, I can make the same case for “crepes awaken”. As one can find meaning or, maybe one’s own interpretation in the pieces created by the people mentioned above, there definitely is a message or meaning or a painting included in your piece.
However, I have to agree with naturalist. This is kickass use of the language. It’s a fun read, as is most of your writing, but this one really stands out.
Cool! (See, I’ve never grown up.) http://smilies.jeeptalk.org/contrib/edoom/Hydrogen.gif

all i'm saying is we had a week of heavy rain in l'acadie and as soon as it stopped all the lovely crepe mytles (profusely-flowering trees) exploded in color, seemingly overnight! the flowers themselves are tightly curled pom-poms that bob quite heavily on the ends of long lithe limbs that look somewhat akin to eucalyptus in the shape of their tiny leaves. a beautiful sight to behold! like big pink snowballs.
now, the next time it rains, these colorful "boucle" (curls) will be sprinkled all over the ground like snow! another poem, i suppose!
you know, michael, i was recently thinking, "now how can anyone understand what i'm saying when i'm talking to the trees, or the moon, or the flowers"! :)
thank you everyone for comments :)
