Kamikaze
12-18-2005, 04:18 PM
Standing oblivious to the world
It casts shadows across the ground
With small marks carved into it
Wounds which never healed
And never will

The glint of the executioners axe
Within the soft light of daybreak
It does not see, it gazes past
Eyes towards the sky

Glancing off at first
A failed attempt, the practice
But that is a rare mistake

The first cut; silent agony
Cutting deeper with every blow
Striking through the defences
And into the soft flesh within

Fighting to remain aloft
To stand in the face of fate
But it cannot fight the inevitable
And it stumbles
A little at first
Before leaning to one side
And then leaning forwards

Rushing through the air
With little resistance
Helped by physical gravity
Pulled down

Crashing down towards the earth
Taken down not for need
But for pleasure
