Icy film blankets the earth in morning
the gentle nudge of summer whisping away
winter skies rolling steadily ahead
and the heat, no longer calling it's own name
the sun ~ backing away slightly crippled
manuevering it's walker through thickening clouds
to recharge and refuel for another season's fancy
leaving behind a brightened star in the sky to remind us
that solitary gem that lies beneath the subtle darkness
spilling the beans on winter's blistery end.

how quickly the seasons change
yesterday felt like spring
today feels like winter
and we are left with memories
of what was a season

Yes, I think this winter is going to be an especially cold one. :(

i love your use of the word "blankets". commonly enough used in reference to winter's ice and snow, but interesting in context,

and good to have around when the sun is so helpless,

and stingy! :)
