Dawn rises with no arrogance
Shy in her new dress.
And calls in soft low tones
To waken the colours of contoured scenes.

Gentle does Dawn touch down
Fingers of misty sense
Stroking dew's tears away
And whispers a tune for flowers to dance.

Pastel light is the accent of dawn
No aggressive red streaks
Speaks the scent of Flora
Coaxing the sleep from dreaming roses.

Sweet dawn, Night's young sister
Day's early child-bride
Never jealous in his witness
As Dawn tenderly kisses all humanity's cheek

Dawn is a special time of the day, it signals a beginning and the prospect of something wonderful. enjoyed..

The poem is very romantic and dreamy, as it slips into
and out of metaphor. Only after reading to the 5th line
did I catch the proper name of Dawn. This introduced
the personification of the dawn (morning) and clued me
into the female presence that the poem interacts with.
The further introduction of him at the second last line
reinforces the relationship aspect, so I take another read
down the poem with this in mind.

I enjoyed the time I spent with this poem. Thanks for
the read and the delight of the language and images.
i.e.: dreaming roses
