Instinct commands.

When the longed for spring has come.
Mating birds will build their home
Lay their eggs and raise their brood.
Far for food they need to roam.

Nestling’s ever open beak
waits for food its parents seek
Quickly does each nestling grow,
Mothers know each separate squeak.

Father teaches them to fly
under mothers watchful eyes
When they have mastered the art
they depart: No goodbye.

Spring will come again next year
welcomed by each mating pair.
They will raise another brood
as they should .Everywhere.

Thank you for sharing this read... If only some parents would allow the children to fly free after nurturing... The joy of procreativity is always a blessing... Ron.

well done Ivor, I find myself waiting on the next spring and winter is barely here.
