White-crisp is the starched uniform
Of snow which nurses our wintered land
Flurried, is whipped in the flaky storm
Now soft in silence does the blanket stand.

Pristine, diamond studded is snows’ fall
To cuddle warm the hardened ground
In moulded form is quilted natures call
To muffle heavy footsteps in their sound.

Winters’ coat is tight-buttoned pressed
A childish delight for younger eyes
Come, sweet song of birds in red-breasts
As more flakes free themselves from skies.

Come, you Winter, in white cap and gown
Spread all your fine glistening curtains’ snow
Over mountains, hills, and over town
Open our eyes to this winters’ show.

A very pretty write, draped in winter fineries with sparkling red breasted birds.

We don't have the "white stuff" here but your poem helped me get into the season :) Zahra

Thank you, again, Poetess, for your kind comment...I will tell you that, in London, we have not seen a good fall of snow for many years... Soon, all the snow will whiten the hills of the Sahara!... Ron.
