Impermanence.

The snow had fallen silently
throughout the night and every tree,
decked like a bride in finery
was on display for all to see.
The streets all white untrodden yet
by passing feet which shamelessly
leave dark footprints which upset
the virgin whiteness carelessly.
Too soon, too soon the marching feet
obliterate perfection.
Then once again the village street
Is just a street its magic gone.
But in the distance I still see
vistas of snow clad scenery.

wait, ivor!!! now how did i miss this!

what a lovely picture you pen of the snow, something rarely, very rarely seen here in the gulf coastal regions. i have to travel quite a few miles at some expense to go trample the bride's cake in my muddy boots!!! :)

thanks so much for the thought and another fine writing.

btw, i still have my precious, and apparently very effective, rowan wand, my lovely wood and stone and twine from the british isles. it has its place of honor in a discreet location near the main entrance, screens my calls, so to speak. :)

love,
:)
