MayDay, MayDay!
Spring has had her heyday,
and now the summer's full sun bores
sweat and sex from every pore oozing,
in the hot ritual of choosing.
and bees bed down in flowered bells
with pollened lips that never tell
and all the while the green sward swells,
masking musky mingles in the grasses
as lads and lasses slip the chain
and wild oats mark their passing;
druids sing up summer rain
and the world begets the world, again.

It's hard to find perfection in the natural world, but this is as good as it gets.
Bravo...

where have you been, monkey? I've missed your writing..
i don't venture into this particular forum .. this is my first time here
found you here looking around a corner somehow with our faces painted
clownlike ... this piece made me look ... love it!

thanks everyone. doreen, I've had too many commitments eating up too much of my time this year - I miss reading poetry here. will do my best to check in more often and maybe even write a bit.

a firepot
a full moon

and mother sent a man;

now,
let us see
what fierce and fertile energy
we stir
at the spur

of such swift certain might.

the monkey see,
and monkey do tell it!!

wonderful alliteration my friend. In the spring a young mans fancy becomes reality with a little luck
