The blazing Sun was a soft pink orb
On daybreaks veil of simple touchless clouds
All its heat and fiery blast held
Dormant by Nature’s transparent shroud
No longer red crimson glaring flame
Burning away sweet morning dew
Unable to scorch the tender grass
His chromatic color turned a baby hue
Pink is for girls or so they say
And I am not one to contend
Yet to see old man Sun humbled
By crayon stroke he could not transcend
Made me smile to know his weakness
Was not fear of cooling come eternity
Only bowed from his fierceness now
A whim of childlike innocence the key
On daybreaks veil of simple touchless clouds
All its heat and fiery blast held
Dormant by Nature’s transparent shroud
No longer red crimson glaring flame
Burning away sweet morning dew
Unable to scorch the tender grass
His chromatic color turned a baby hue
Pink is for girls or so they say
And I am not one to contend
Yet to see old man Sun humbled
By crayon stroke he could not transcend
Made me smile to know his weakness
Was not fear of cooling come eternity
Only bowed from his fierceness now
