like bird parker
like the cool breeze
a summers day
the beach
the word
Jam lives
it resounds
it multiplies
it is..........JAM!

Mark Coburn

it resounded the cyber waves
first thought jam
best thought jam
gathering cyber minds
primed & ready
rock steady
not so long ago...........

07-30-2007, 11:47 AM
Like cliff house angles -
heady sunlight hidden sky -
Jam is anti-grav,
carrying, smiling,
caring for all and for none.
Sailing into the set sun,
ah, the risen sun of early morn,
of stars reveiled and mirrors borne!

Mark Coburn

rocks moving
waves crashing
the wobble,
spinning top in
a lil boys hand,
watching the wagon wheel
in innebriated state

08-06-2007, 10:53 AM
spread the jam
toast the tao
the flow is the go
rotate, gyrate, escalate
that high gets higher
on denying the feel
that feeling of go, go
going... like notes
from the sax, jack
smacks of freedom

Mark Coburn

the knick and knack
down to the bone
mtmynd's jellyroll
blazing slide winder
way out on the perimeter
where jack's belly aches
turned by the pharleft
masked by the boweevil
i sing these blue...blue...blues..........

08-06-2007, 07:28 PM
the blues... the blues
brought on by the muse
singin' of struggles
singin' of loss
wailin' in the night
the muse is the boss

08-06-2007, 07:57 PM
muse wakes me up from further minds
jam shrieks me outa bed
no more operas
hold that high note
gotta jam, need to get it out
fingers can't rest while jam pummels my head
konk me silly
move this body gravitational lead
rise above, rock quantum rock
slip into the world of spoken word talk

and here we are jammin'
in the damn crammed universal
atmosphere, clear as a summer day,
fogged up by greyed & rose glasses,
never ending our connection, attempts
to make breathable the air as we dare
our oooompapah to make a note to one
another, staccato or sustained, each of us
named one by one until we recognize the
same in the other and the differences, too,
you being you, me being me, can't you see?
can't you see?

we are all one jammin'
all one at the same time
on a poetic lam lookin'

outta dis world jam
like Saturn's ring bouncing light aound
ice crystals of sound
like xylophone hits blinking, winking
the sharp, the cool
spinning in space
in place
but spinning in space
the numerical notes
oh, gravity
what a tune
you spoon on a planet's head
a prism of light
oh, chrysalis
moving, grooving
the big platter
of Saturn's
doing its own thing
spinning those rings

in a beatific smile
it lives

08-26-2007, 10:50 PM
it crawls around gutters
waiting to pop up and smile in your face
jam is survival
humour shots, IV tenacity

jam is a god
damn saviour,
a forever nurturer, a
rebellious freaking fluid
a death-by-death-die-by-die
outa body experience, an inebriation,
a configuration of syllables, utterances
strung together by breathing...
Jam is seaming together head
lines, rhymes interspersed with veritable
photographs in a headspin, wins and losses
measured only by the endeavors to experience
each.... Jam can teach, jam can explain, jam
can name each of us and position each of us
on a cloud particular to our own lofty situation,
then drain us like a thunderstorm, normal our
various heartbeats, deep, our swallows, our variety
of patience waiting like aorta thumps, dumbed down
by acceptance, opted up by the of course of NOW
and OH how I love you when you jam with me,
OH how I dance to your beat, OH how I find the
circumference of your halo, wrap my arms around
its resurrected reflection, feel your aura when you

Yes! the jam is a dam
opened, a damn sweep on a
rhythmic air canal, my heart touched
with yours, yours completely connected
with mine!

if i could
i surely would
stand on a rock
or a soapbox
all my instruments
at my side
wired sculptures
hanging around me
mobiles floating overhead
singing out my words
to a raga blues rhythm
in perpetual JAM!!!!!!!!

09-07-2007, 10:49 AM
i wouldn't i would
it's just that i do and i do again
i try to not talk
and then i speak words and off goes the brain
gone to maypole centre, round and round
in spiral association twirl
and it is good

cry of the people
my inner hordes
each voice a stubborn picasso
must be heard
at all costs
slashing images
for high stakes
throwing pollock on the ground
paint, more paint
words bungee extravagance
rippling like a garcia pebble
in a mythical quagmire
all too happy to find a friend

like that? are there any ways
to hang wires than from a skinned
ceiling? who do the police work for
but for us? it's criminal, i know, but
when someone comes in your house
without a stocking mask, without a gun,
and takes you to the cleaners, there's only
one thing to do.

i blew the whistle on the dock one night.
the bay didn't back up one iota of a wave.

save me from myself.

still health ?'s
like hurricanes
inevitability of it all
still gotta hold the
head up and feel
the powder blue

09-06-2008, 09:39 PM
gotta hold up that head
high as it can go
strengthen the neck
keep it ready
stickin it out
opening the mouth
taking a chance
gotta keep the body in availability
moment's notice is due presently

to your rockin soulful health!
cheers to us all

monkey boy

stick out your neck
take a chance
like Turtle,
give the grave a wave
and join the big dance
and stomp
jump the stump
dig the big sound
grab the drum and give it a pound
shake your bones
yip and yell
give 'em hell
do not go gentle into that good shell
heaven can wait
plenty of time for the play at the plate

09-28-2009, 04:25 PM
Leap like a bullfrog
or the ballet dancer-
lost lover amidst fog,
perhaps as reindeer Prancer.

Of course - it’s your neck.
should you fail or falter.
Come on - what the heck?
Swim words - tread verbal water.

09-29-2009, 10:46 AM
Querying Quill,
dare you speak ill
of fateful
sweet love's
heaven's defile,
naughty Puck's
Pray you
the inkwell dry
the forbidden,
the shadows
so long,
and tip
the lid
of Pandora's
a Poet's spell.

09-29-2009, 01:58 PM
Dance the ink
of your poetry’s quill.
Answer the quandary
of love’s rebuff.

Gods will never
heed your prayer.
Their messengers-
an impish breed.

Beware the reward
within coveted Box.
Some secrets better
left unexposed!

10-02-2009, 08:48 AM
Crawled upon belly
to reach the box.
Hands shake unsteady-
to open or not?
Terrified to act,
yet bored to ignore.
Releasing pleasure
and pain-
your forgive,
I implore!

Mark Coburn

hands so numb
can't feel to grip
waitin' for my buddy
