Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland

In the thrill of a summer evening
Small things move in the hedge
And only the dark of the mountains
Holds back the round world's edge

The loch is self-illumined
Dusk's own soul is still
The moon seems too much movement
For a drowsy blackbird's trill

The scent of woodbine rises
To mix with meadow-sweet
The sheep are crouched in the heather
After the sudden heat

The songbirds slumber in silence
And among the grasses lush
The spirit of night is hovering
Whispering, “Hush, my darling, hush”.......

I have been and I have seen this castle and been affected in the same way my friend. I recall the highland biting midges most of all
