How quiet your are
Only the wind makes you sing -
breezes thru your leaves
your only sound

You've taken a
Vow of Silence
and you seem to know
that it's not the sound
but the ground
where you stand
that teaches you
this precious silence.

If only I could learn
what you have gained
from listening
year in - year out
without speaking...
