Trees
the wonderful things that stride in these
Grass
look closer to see the hero's path
Sky
lines forsakingly the clouds deny
Space
what ever happened to the knowledge race

AP, I don’t think that the fact that this is formatted poetry can be denied. I’m just wondering if it’s a specific kind of formatted poetry.
Even if it isn’t a predefined format, appealing to vision as a sort of hook is a wonderful idea.

The descriptors for “grass”, “sky” and “space” seem to deal with misfortune and anxiety whereas the above descriptor for trees is light and upbeat. Am I reading this wrong?
If not, are you attempting to show a paradox?
The use of language in “one comma four two zero” is slick, skilled and vivid. I enjoyed this a lot.
To friendship,

one comma four two zero was accute_pyro's posting count upon putting this one up (i thot) and...
well ... but his count has changed since you visited Michael, so you wouldn't necessarily know or have seen...
well ...
and maybe that has nothing to do - or everything to do - with this tantalizing poem :D
hmmm.. heros can die with hope
while i would add, hope alone is not enough
and..
thoughtful - thanks

in that case, you must be very tired?
let's add a little something to that hope, shall we?
I'm not sure what, just yet, but lets see what we can do..

Simple but effective format Not a recognised form as far as I am aware
But somebody had to originate every form I lked the simplicity of the format and the depth of the content

i use all "random creative" formats ... recognized or not ... so i don't know but .. thank you very much for your thoughts all ((poeticpiers)) may you all injoy words no matter how there thrown into presentation .. for is poetry a conveance of though or force of witch by we abide these words there perpetual freedom?

indeed piph
thanks for the loving reminder
it is somtimes we stray from form
from the paths we choose
its hard at times to avoid the illusions
and its good to know that somone is thinking
for other than thereselves

I think there is no quantitative shortage of knowledge and knowledgeable sources across what might be termed western civilisation in general. It's the quality of much of this knowledge that worries me somewhat.
