I love the sun on my face
a gentle breeze playing in my hair
the feel of warm grainy sand underneath my feet
the smell of salty ocean mist in my nose
the sound of waves rolling over my thoughts…

I love how all these things combine
to sweep away the cobwebs in my head
To experience a creation so divine
it's like waking up in a made-in-heaven bed
I love the calming rhythm of ebb and flow
The sense of being lost in time and space
no need to hurry, nowhere to go
Of melting into my surroundings
with just a dreamy gaze
escaping this crazy never ending race
I love the sea
It grounds me and lets me be
It never asks for anything in return
except that when I get the chance,
to sojourn
and witness its gentle healing dance
.

Guess we're all living on an island somewhere, only difference is the size, or maybe the sighs. And the sand gets everywhere . . . . .

haha...i wrote this poem after we immigrated and got two winters in a row and the promise of a vacation at my beloved ocean so far away. oh, the thought of having my own island. and summer all year! *sigh* don't mind the sand so much...

It's been a long time since I've visited the beach, the best ones I've seen are along the Med. White sand and blue water, a combination that's hard to beat. Enjoyed the read.

I wish, maybe in a year or two I might just do that.
