Now, a polar bear would like
nothing other than to run and roll
in the crunchy, white snow,
followed by a jump into the water
to catch a meal.
Instead, he finds himself
sloshing in the stretches of puddles
when he is lucky, and swim for hours
looking for ice to sleep on.

So here is the question:
What happens if, as they say,
the polar ice is gone in a few years,
instead of a few decades,
what happens to the polar bear?
Are we humans stupid enough to
let them drown en masse?
Isn't it better to stop blaming
others for your own mistakes?
Or do you keep destroying the environment
because the others are doing it?
Only time will tell.
Saving the polar bear is
up to each of us.
We can help.

this problem is focused on the polar bear
but
has everyone forgotten eco dynamics?
there major prey will become more plentiful
crushing its food suplly and so on

we must all do our part .. or at least a little

writlife - i have always been the sort of person whose heart goes out to the animals who fall prey to man's greed and foolery, crying when hitting a little rabbit with the car. i know he "zigged instead of zagged" but if it weren't for my own hurried human needs, it never would have happened..

good poem

Thank you all for your comments. I'd like to say this about global warming: The U.S. is the worst polluter in the world. Yet the current government points to China and India and says they are polluting, too. But I really think that as the remaining superpower, we should be leading the rest of the world on solutions, like solar and wind power, building electric cars, and above all, conservation of energy. Time to bring back national 55-mile speed limit, too. We can all look forward to a change in the U.S. president next year.

There were few if any men about when the dinosaurs succumbed to climate change No doubt our puny race contibutes something towrads glabla warming but I am inclined to believe it is just part of the natural cylcle of cooling and warming eearth has undergone through the ages
