does anyone know of a site to ask virus, bad things happening to a computer questions without getting assaulted with sales, "yes I can fix it just download MY program" answers?

The first one has one or two ads, but they are not in-your-face, and I've used this site before when my terminal was infected.

The second doesn't seem to have any ads and looks fairly well-used.

Go to www.cnet.com and search downloads for "Malwarebytes , AntiMalware download and install, but don't run it yet...disconnect your computer from the internet and restart in SAFE mode, then do a full scan... restart again in Safe mode and run a second time (it can multiply itself)..make sure whatever it is is gone and then reconnect back to the net.

I caught a sleeper virus---it looked like a standard malware cleaner, and kept insisting that it and it alone could clear my puter...only it's origin was Romania. The "letter" I got included a small typo or two...sort of a dead give-away that something is amiss.

A friend suggested one of the sites where I was able to rid myself of it, but had I followed their instructions, they would have had my bank info to play with...not cool.
