Thorberg’s method of work and material is extraordinary and unique, he paints upside-down as if to make it easier for the audience to view, but the reason for this is all about his perspective to the painting. His brush never touches the paper when he is forming the figurative part of the painting; his color “line” hangs in mid air until it finds itself on the paper or canvas forming his figures. The only color he uses is made from real coffee.
